America's Birthday!

I would have to say that my 4th of July this year was very un-traditional.  I am a British person celebrating the 4th of July in Germany. Seems very un-American. Some people may think its extremely odd that my family has taken part in July 4th over the years, but I have come to appreciate the holiday and not just because of the delicious food that usually comes along with it. Although my family is British and the 4th of July celebrates America's independence from my "home country" I do not feel strange at all celebrating this holiday. America has given me many opportunities I do not think I would have gotten had we stayed in England. America has given us so many things, including amazing friends, great educations and a nice tan :) Thus I thoroughly appreciated it when the German students from the business school in Munster threw us a BBQ to celebrate all together! We went to this beautiful park in Munster and drank beer and ate lots of bratwurst, yum :) Although it was exponentially different than my previous 4th of July's, the Germans do know how to celebrate America's birthday!
